In case of comprehensive building projects it makes sense to develop an energy and environmental scheme. Energy schemes are also very helpful to save energy in case of refurbishments and conversions. For this purpose, all energy and material flows are examined in context to benefit from synergy effects. Different energy supply variants are developed and checked according to different criteria. The main emphasis of the variants is put on the use of renewable potentials, as e.g. geothermal energy, solar heat, combined heat and power and thermal cascades.
The basis of an energy scheme is a detailed energy demand analysis. For this purpose all project participants should mutually agree on the main objectives (e.g. comfort, security of supply, ...).
Then the variants of supply and distribution are gradually deduced from the demand analysis. Especially in case of complex building development it is recommended to use thermal building and system simulation. The assessment and recommendation of individual variants is realized according to a priority list.
